Children's Day/Book Day, also known as El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Día), is a celebration of children, families, and reading held annually on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. So celebrate it by visiting your local library and checkout some great books.

The Pasco County Library has a unique collection of toys for children with special needs. The adaptive toys allow children to independently experience the pleasure of learning through play. Children’s play is the building block for literacy. These toys can be used to enhance many areas of development in young children including:

• Language Development


• Fine & Gross Motor Skills


• Sensory Exploration


• Visual Perception

The Rotary Club of Keystone Sunrise has partnered with the library system to establish this special collection of toys. The toy lending collections are housed at the Hudson Regional Library and the Land O’ Lakes Library. It is available to all patrons in the county. You can request that the toy be delivered to your library branch. The collection can be viewed through the library’s homepage under “Catalog/Research.”
