Make Summer Reading Count


It’s easy!!! Registration for the summer reading club starts Tuesday, May 26. You can begin reporting the books you’ve read June 6th. Earn weekly prizes for the books you read. If you read and report on all your books by July 25th, you become a Pasco County Library System Star Reader. Star Readers will be invited to a final party with certificates and rewards for all!

Did you know that you could use the same books read for the Be Creative or Express Yourself Summer Reading Club for more rewards and prizes elsewhere???
For children in grades 3-5 This summer Pasco County Libraries have been invited to participate in Reading with the Rays: Read Your Way to the Ballpark. Just choose your favorite books from your local library or select your favorite section of the St. Petersburg Times to read over the summer. As you read, track your hours by rounding the bases and collect Rays rewards. Read Around the Bases cards coming soon to a library near you!

Read around the bases – 24 hours total!!!
3 Hours – First Base Reward: Rays Cup
5 More Hours – Second Base Reward: Rays Wristband
7 More Hours – Third Base Reward: Rays Reading Poster
9 More Hours – Home Plate Reward: 1 Ticket to a Rays Home Game (Details on the Card)

For children in grades 1-6 Kids can earn a free book, when they read 8 books this summer @ Barnes and Noble. Just download the Barnes and Noble 2009 Summer Reading with Percy Jackson and the Olympians Journal for more information - www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/

For School Age Children Read for the Record with Scholastic. Here’s your chance to attempt a new world record! Join together with other kids from your school to read as many books as you can over the summer. Here you can log the number of minutes you spend reading and keep track of how other schools are doing.
